ULB provides year-round support to its students through the Student Social Service (Service social Étudiants), offering financial aid, scholarships, various discounts, and student job opportunities. Additionally, it provides information on students' rights, guides them to appropriate services, and assists with external administrative processes, helping manage student life and address temporary challenges.

€2 Meals for Students in Need
To support students facing financial difficulties, ULB offers Smart and vegetarian meals at a reduced rate of €2.
Eligibility:
• Bachelor's, Master's, or AESS students can access this offer.
• If you already receive a reduced tuition fee, you automatically qualify by showing your ULB student card.
Applying for the discount:
• If you need (temporally) financial support, request the discount via the MonULB portal:
1. Visit MonULB
2. Navigate to "Mon secrétariat virtuel," then "Ma situation financière," and select "Ma réduction aux restaurants universitaires."
3. Submit your request.
4. The discount will be applied after an average processing time of 2 business days.

Support for transgender students
Priority access to ULB housing: If recognized by the student social services, you might qualify for ULB housing, which has a limited number of spots. Please note that the application period for priority access for the 2025-2026 academic year will open in March 2025, as requests for the current year closed on April 30, 2024.
Status of student with fewer opportunities (AMO): The student social services collaborate with ULB's Mobility Service to grant the status of student with fewer opportunities to AMO scholarship recipients. For details, reach out to AMO-sse@ulb.be
Additional services for ULB students include a social grocery store, medical services, psychological support and family planning.
Welcome Desk for Refugees
The Welcome Desk for Refugees provides individual support to refugee students before, during, and after their registration at ULB. It assists with administrative support, French and English language learning, understanding the Belgian academic system, and finding housing.

ULB students with specific needs can obtain the ‘Étudiants à Besoins Spécifiques (EBS)’ status at the university. For more details on how to apply, please visit the provided link or contact the EBS team via email. Each ULB faculty also has EBS faculty coordinators available for contact.
