After two successful days, we're organising our third training day on (double) immersion on 11 March!
Multilingual teaching is widely practised in Belgium, in the form of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). In both Flanders and Wallonia, there is a wide range of schools where pupils benefit from this form of teaching. However, these school teams still face a whole series of practical questions. This is why the Université libre de Bruxelles, in collaboration with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Onderwijscentrum Brussel, is organising training days on (double) immersion across linguistic borders.
Over the course of these three days, school management teams and teachers will be able to enhance their expertise and forge links with their colleagues in French-speaking and Dutch-speaking education, across linguistic boundaries. To achieve this, these days combine plenary sessions, workshops and round tables. Each day is devoted to a specific theme. After addressing the general framework of double immersion, quality assurance in CLIL, formative and summative assessment in CLIL and language policy in CLIL, this third day will be devoted to the interdisciplinary cooperation between language teachers and content teachers. This is the first step towards a shared professionalisation programme in the field of (double) immersion.
These training days have been made possible thanks to the support of the Institut interréseaux de la Formation professionnelle continue (IFPC) and the Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie (VGC).
