Are there any entry requirements?
No, these exchanges usually concern elective courses. It is advised to have a B2 level (European Framework of Reference) of the course language.
Do I have to pay any study fees?
Study fees should be paid to the home institution. You do need to be administratively registered at the other university. This is free of charge. The question below explains how to do this.
How can I register at the ULB?
Inform your VUB faculty secretariat that you want to follow one or more courses at the ULB as a guest student. The VUB faculty secretariat will then communicate your personal data to the ULB faculty secretariat. The deadlines for guest students to register their courses at the ULB are 31/10/2024 and 15/02/2025 (for first and second semester courses respectively). In order to have access to all necessary applications on time, make sure you do not wait too long to register for courses.

What is the online learning platform and how do I log in?
The online learning platform is called «L’Université Virtuelle ». Here students can find documents, online tests, discussion forums etc. You can log in with your ULBID and password.

If you want to take courses at the VUB, you must register online as a guest student via this link. The deadlines for guest students to register their courses at the VUB are 18/10/2024 and 01/03/2025 (for first and second semester courses respectively). The exams are organised in the course language and take place at the campus of the institution that organises the course, in accordance with the modalities applicable in the institution. The lecturer takes responsibility of exam preparation and assessment. Students will be informed about the assessment criteria of the host institution beforehand.
